[Wayland + 570] GPU has fallen off the bus

Hi! Long story short:

  1. Installed Kubuntu on a PC with Nvidia RTX 4070
  2. Added options nvidia-drm modeset=1 and nvidia-drm.modeset=1 in modprobe and grub
  3. The system boots normally but after a while (one minute to hours of use, no actual repro steps) the system freeze

I found in syslog the following error: GPU has fallen off the bus. I should note that I don’t have this issue on X11 session. I’m dual booting windows and there is no problem at all so I suspect this is not a GPU hardware issue

Logs:
nvidia-bug-report.log.tar.gz (459.9 KB)
syslog.log.tar.gz (53.7 KB)

Edit: (added the gpu vendor)
GPU Vendor: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 OC Edition 12GB GDDR6X

This is getting ridiculous, I’ve been playing and working yesterday for a bunch of hours with no issue at all. Today I boot the PC and in under 5 minutes it crashes… What is happening??

Other topics with the same error talk about a power issue, I can guarantee with an outlet power monitor that my system did not draw more than 450W (and I’m having a 750 psu)

sudo nvidia-smi -pm 1

This “sollution” was found on an old youtube video. The creator encountered the same error when waking up the PC from hibernate so I gave it a shot. Perhaps it just didn’t happened yet but for some reason this seem to fix the issue.
