Why can't I find usb audio? I want to record sound use a usb sound card.

Hello!

I assume that you have connected a USB microphone/sound card, if so then you should see the USB soundcard list under …

cat /proc/asounds/cards

It should also appear under the ‘Sound Settings’ in the Ubuntu desktop. Do you not see it in either of these locations? If so what USB device are you using?
