WiFi for Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module

Hello Everyone,
I’m looking for a WiFi module that can be interfaced with Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module.
I’ve already explored many threads on this Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module forum about this. Doing this, I came across two options:

  1. USB based dongle for Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module
  2. Intel AC8265 based card.

However, Intel AC8265 is discontinued and USB is not an option for my application. Can someone please recommend AW-CB375NF like produce which can be integrated as a chip with Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module?

Thanks.

Not sure what does this mean.

Some developers use AX200 or AX210, you may also check Latest wifi topics - NVIDIA Developer Forums

Hello @kayccc ,

Let me try to elaborate further. I developed one project using Jetson Nano based device for wifi communication. For that I used a USB based WiFi device/dongle.

What I am actually looking for is a SoM kind of device that gets directly connected with Jetson Module (exactly how azurewave aw-cb375nf attaches with any of the Orin modules) i.e. M.2 type connector with mechanical screw fitting.

As the end environment in which I am going to used my product will be much harsh with lot of vibration and temperature variation, I cannot use USB dongle to provide WiFi to my jetson boards.

Now, to finalise my end SoM device, I compared all the Jeston products and could conclude that Xavier industrial is the best choice considering mass, power, size, and processing capability. However, as specified in Jetson Download Center | NVIDIA Developer (Jetson AGX Xavier Supported Components List), Intel 8265NGW is the only tested and proven chipset. However, it has been discontinued by Intel.

Supported components list provided in the link above also states that “Many Intel wireless devices using iwlwifi driver may work out of the box with the development kit, but this particular device has been verified.” Upon checking for the product list that supports iwlwifi drivers, I could find this: iwlwifi - Debian Wiki. However, all these devices seem to be obsolete now or on the verge of becoming obsolete.

Now the query I am left with is, which WiFi chipset can be used? I understand that the device may not be tested by NVIDIA itself, but there has to be some module which can work out of the box with Xavier Industrial module? e.g. Intel® Wi-Fi 7 BE200 is there. But how do I make sure that it will work with Xavier industrial?

I hope I was able to explain the exact query.

Best regards,

Hello @DaneLLL ,
I understand that Orin supports azurewave aw-cb375nf device. However, I Orin Industrial is much more power intensive device with the processing capability much higher than my requirements. Hence the question, whether AGX Xavier or TX2i can support WIFI devices other than Intel 8265NGW (since it is discontinued by Intel). If yes, how?

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,
Most WIFI modules with M.2 Key-E slot should work. For further suggestion, probably need others users to share experience. We mainly use the module with AGX Orin developer kit.
