Windows Server 2025 Hyper-V GPU-P not working

I want to configure GPU Partitioning with an DL380 G11 Server and two Nvidia A16 GPU’s. I use Windows Server 2025 Preview as host OS. But in Windows Admin Center the GPU’s are displayed only as “Ready for DDA assignment” and NOT “partitioned”. So I’m not able to configure an GPU-Pool.
Powershell Get-VMHostPartitionableGpu don’t list any available GPU’s.
Do I have the wrong device driver? But in device manager all eight A16 devices are listed.

Which driver do you want to use for this purpose? GPU-P for Windows Server 2025 is announced as a new feature but there is no NVIDIA driver available yet. Keep in mind that the product is not GA.

Is a environment for testing like in microsoft article
Partitionierung und Zuweisung von GPUs zu einer virtuellen Maschine in Hyper-V | Microsoft Learn

The other environment (We have three of this DL380 G11 servers) we want to use GPU DDA for some Remote Desktop Hosts. But here we also have problems. We can see our GPU in VM device manager. But when we make a RDP session it only uses Microsoft BasicDisplay Driver. Although we configured the GPO’s to use Hardwaregraphics Card.
Which driver do I have to use in VM for this scenario?

We have the same problem in our testing environment.
2 Win 2025 Datacenter Hosts with 2 NVidia a16, but no driver available for GPU-P.
Seems like we need to wait a little bit longer…

If this is just for testing purpose you need to have a direct contact person (SA or AM) at NVIDIA to request a beta driver. There are specific requirements necessary to be able to request such drivers. As Windows 2025 will be GA in November you won’t see a public NVIDIA driver for vGPU before.

It is mid-December, any word on when the driver will drop?

Another month went by and even on the just yesterday published software version 17.5 we still do not a have an official support for windows server 2025 & gpu-p (which btw. works with the “Azure local”- aka “Azure Stack HCI”-drivers so far… but still no support and the performance is at least not as we expected)…
Let’s see. if the case with Nvidia Enterprise Suppport will push this forward :-(

I’m seeing a similar issue after the latest release

I’ve got an Nvidia L4 on a Win 2025 server using the new vGPU 18.0 driver version 572.60 but in Windows Admin Center I see ‘Ready for DDA assignment’
