[550.47] Unity Editor on Linux crashes when using Vulkan Graphics backend with Nvidia 550 drivers

Hi,

It seems like whenever we create a Unity project and then switch to Vulkan graphics backend, the editor just hangs and doesn’t open the bug reporter or anything. This only happens when using nvidia 550 drivers (550.67 and 550.54), but not on 545 or 535. This happens on both Ubuntu and Arch, and we would assume will happen on other distros.

Here’s the link to the unity issue tracker: Unity Issue Tracker - [Linux][Nvidia][Vulkan] Silent crash when opening windows on a Vulkan project with nvidia 550 drivers

We already received multiple duplicate bug reports regarding this, and their reproduction steps are the same, and all of the users were using 550 drivers.

Thanks for the detailed report. I was able to reproduce this on my end and will get in touch when I have more to share. All progress for this issue is being tracked in bug number 4640985.

Can you give an update to this?

Unity - no answer
Nvidia - no answer

Please let us know what’s the status here. At least so I know who to bug because I don’t even know who is responsible.
