575 Nvidia-smi cannot see both gpus

NVIDIA-SMI 575.51.02 Driver Version: 575.51.02 CUDA Version: 12.9

nvidia-smi will only show one graphics card. Initially it showed my 5060 ti, but after reinstalling the drivers (proprietary instead of mit/gpl) now it only shows my 3060.

I am running Ubuntu 25.04 currently, but 24.04.2 had the same issues.

Before enabling resizable bar the OS was studdering when running both GPUs. It works fine if I remove one or the other. after resizable bar was enabled this issue went away, but it didn’t change the fact I can only see 1 gpu.

$ sudo lspci | grep VGA
05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA106 [GeForce RTX 3060 Lite Hash Rate] (rev a1)
0b:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 2d04 (rev a1)

Well the resizable bar was definitely a necessary change. I removed the 3060 physically and the 5060 ti wasn’t found. Reinstalled the 575 non gpl drivers from nvidia site. 5060 ti still not found.

Installed the gpl drivers and the 5060 ti was found after reboot. Shutdown and reinstalled (physically) the 3060.

It sees both now on startup… Very bizarre.

I think the biggest key was turning on resizable bar and then installing the mit/gpl version of the drivers off the nvidia site.

Currently the standard repo supported nvidia graphics don’t work for the 5060 ti.

like people said in another thread, the 50 series cards don’t work without open modules AND gsp enabled.
