About NVIDIA DGX Spark Reservation Countdown

I am guessing a lot of people recevied an email recently (3 Oct) about “Getting ready“.

Since I made a reservation bit late I am wondering if some people already had an option to buy?

Since the email states “You’ll soon receive an email from NVIDIA Marketplace“ the reader might get an idea (like i did) that “soon“ means, well, soon. Whatever that means. Days, weeks? A month? It’s soon when you compare it to the timeline I guess.

So maybe someone who already got their hands on it could comment on what that means?

Or am I living in dreamland and nobody have their hands one one? I am sure I didn’t dream reading that some place, some people yapping about getting another one so…

I’ve been waiting patiently. I can see why you’d be confused by ‘soon’ from the email. I am assuming it means a few days. I am interested in DGX Spark for research and exploring deep learning and Gen AI. This is my biggest investment (break the bank) and most significant commitment. I hope DGX Spark lives up to its advertised hype. I hope we get it before I change my mind lol.

When I got the invite on 3rd October stating you have 4 days to buy, I was thinking that on Moday the 6th October we might get the purchase email link, then if we dont purchase by Friday 10th October then we will lose our spot to purchase and the next person on the reservation list will get option to buy. I think they have a limited number ready to ship, I heard they will ramp up production in Q4 2025 nd Q1 2026

I have a reservation ID around 7000 (they seem to be sequential) and I am located in the EU (if that makes a difference). No further comms received after Oct 3rd mail.

My reservation included a price indication, I am most interested in wether it will be maintained.

I am in the United Kingdom and like you I hope they keep the pricing per the reservation. I am around 1000 on the reservation list.

I’m in the same situation. I’ve been waiting since October 3rd for the email from the NVIDIA Marketplace. I have been informed by a distributor that the contingent is definitely limited.

I thought that Michael, I am currenty 1000 on the reservation list so it’s looking good that I might get one. Did the distributor give you any idea on the actual launch / purchase date.

Unfortunately, I have not received any information regarding release dates or availability.

I did my reservation really late so theoretically I should not be receiving email saying “get ready to confirm your reservation purchase“ if the stock was low. I am in EU and am pretty sure stock is distributed differently by regions so that would mean that reservation IDs though sequential will not result in sequencial distribution. Just my opinion.

Has anyone received a link to purchase at all? Also, “reserved” in theory, should imply that our Founder unit(s) are guaranteed availability before the public.

I love how that sounds haha.
I think that we are the public.
Since I don’t think there is much market for these things for random people. I think we still living in that mindset of GPU shortage. Sparks are not really that versatile like consumer GPUs were so when they are ready they will not sell like hot cakes. Well, at least I think they wont. I am an opinionated cnt so who knows.

My number is in the 13000s. Still not sure if this is the right way to go or do I got for the Mac Studio M4 Pro or M3 Ultra with 128gb? It’s tough.

First order instructions have been sent out as it seems: a german got his instructions and a date 20th October for the Asus version.

Count +1 for flexibility for Spark. It basically runs modded Ubuntu.

Didn’t Asus have their own waiting list? I think they did, but maybe I’m wrong.

I am waiting on the oem so probably will take longer.

Yes that’s what I’m thinking. I haven’t been massively impressed with the OS on my Jetson Orin Nano though lots of Jetpack niggles.. Hoping the “modded” still lets the Spark be a fully useable Ubuntu machine…

At the time when I made my reservation in March on the NVIDIA marketplace, you could choose between the founders edition with 4 TB and the cheaper ASUS Ascent GX10 - 1TB.

This reservation countdown mail the original poster mentioned has been sent to those who made a reservation on the marketplace.

The OEMs offered on their sites only a “notify me when available” option yet AFAIK.

There are may be other waiting lists. As at least one south korean reported that he could preorder a founder edition only at a certified NVIDIA reseller. But this is about the marketplace reservations. ;-)

I haven’t looked into it but DGX OS might even be closer to distro even. I think NVIDIA will manage all the updates. One thing I hope for would be that I can rip out all the telemetry and phoning home services.

Ah, got it.

By OEM I mean NVIDIA since they are original equipment manufacturer.

Yea, now I remember seeing Asus 1TB version. Though I don’t think that’s coming out of NVIDIA original stock. I am of the opinion that NVIDIA did a streamlining deal with Asus to take a little bit of load off of themselves.

I did not receive any e-mail, although it is showing as reserved on NVidia Marketplace. I am a little worried now.
