Hi NVIDIA team,
I’m posting to report a minor display behavior I noticed with driver version 576.02. This is not a request for support — just providing feedback in case it’s useful for the driver team or others encountering the same thing.
System Setup:
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E-E (BIOS 2904)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- GPU: KFA2 RTX 4090 (DisplayPort 1 output)
- RAM: 32GB G.SKILL DDR5 6000 MHz CL32
- Cooler: ASUS ROG Ryujin 360 AIO
- Monitor: Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P (Firmware F06)
- Cable: VESA-Certified StarTech DisplayPort 2.1 (used in DP 1.4 mode for monitor compatibility)
- Chipset Driver: AMD (2025-01-13 release)
- Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (as of April 18, 2025)
- Driver Version: GeForce Game Ready 576.02
Display Settings (Desktop):
- Resolution: 3840 × 2160 @ 240 Hz
- Desktop Color Depth: 32-bit
- Output Color Depth: 10 bpc
- Output Format: RGB
- Output Dynamic Range: Full
- HDR: Enabled
- G-SYNC: Enabled (Monitor supports G-SYNC Compatible)
- RTX AI HDR and RTX Video Super Resolution enabled for YouTube and video playback
Observed Issue:
Since updating to driver 576.02, I’ve occasionally noticed a brief red vertical line flash during the boot process. It occurs only once, just after the BIOS screen, as Windows starts to load — seemingly during the DisplayPort/VRR/HDR handshake phase.
- It has appeared 4-5 times across ~90-100 cold boots/reboots
- The issue did not occur on previous driver version 572.xx
- It does not affect system stability or performance in any way
Once Windows is loaded, everything functions normally:
- No visual artifacts or glitches on desktop
- No issues in 3D applications, games, or stress tests
- 3DMark runs cleanly
- G-SYNC, HDR, AI HDR, and RTX Video Super Resolution all work as intended
Reason for Posting:
Again, I’m not requesting support. I’m just reporting this as a minor display handshake artifact that began with driver 576.02 and may be relevant to others using 4K 240 Hz monitors (like the FO32U2P) over DisplayPort or improving the driver.
Thanks for your continued driver work.
