Hi
Apologize in advance if I’m posting in the wrong section. I’m facing an issue with screen resolution when using Display Port since Nvidia Drivers 522.25.
Setup:
Windows 11
Zotac RTX 3080
Ryzen 5800X
Monitor Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q
Issue details:
I’ve been running this setup for the past year with no issue at all! However. since GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL 522.25 (October 12, 2022), I’m not able to use Display Port with my monitor (Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q). The driver installs successfully but my resolution is automatilly set to 1024x860 (or less) and its not possible to select any higher resolution. This only happens with Display Port connection. If I switch to HDMI the system works perfectly.
I’ve run the past driver installs (always performing clean install) and I can confirm that:
GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL - 526.86 - November 10, 2022 - DP not working
GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL - 526.47 - October 27, 2022 - DP not working
NVIDIA Studio Driver WHQL - 522.30 - October 18, 2022 - DP not working
GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL - 522.25 - October 12, 2022 - DP not working
GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL - 517.48 - September 27, 2022 - DP working - STABLE
My monitor firware is also up-to-date.
Can this be an issue with the drivers? Can somebody help?
I’m not taking full advantage of my 3080 at the moment :(
Cheers,
JReis
Setup:
Windows 10
MSI RTX 2080 SUPER
IntelCore i9-10900K
Monitor Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q
Hello,
I think I had exactly the same problem with my RTX 2080 Super. The last driver that worked properly was 517.48. Each subsequent one caused a problem with resolution. When looking for a solution, I didn’t find anything that could help me, so I stuck to these 517.48 drivers. But it couldn’t go on forever.
Yesterday somehow came to me and checked the BIOS and monitor drivers, I will add that I have the same monitor model as you (Aorus FI27Q).
I updated the BIOS because I had a really old version. The monitor drivers were also outdated, I replaced them with the F08 version, I also updated the OSD Sidekick. I must add that the monitor update had to be done on the nvidia 517.48 drivers because all the others caused the problem with the detection of the monitor.
After updating the BIOS and monitor drivers, I have uploaded the latest Nvidia 526.86 drivers and everything works fine from now on.

Thanks for sharing!
The issue was indeed the firmware version of the monitor as I was doing it the wrong way ! I’ve just notived now I was still stucked in F03. Note that firmware update must be done with HDMI connected and not with DP, otherwise the monitor won’t update!
issue solved !
Hello! I faced the same issue but when I plug DP it still goes the same! Only HDMI is working well.
Same ISSUE encountered.
Tested drivers:
517.xx - working
522.xx - broken
526.xx - broken
Setup:
RTX 2070s - Aorus FI27Q
Up, we need a fix for this error.
Reporting the same problem here. 3070 TI, same Aorus monitor connected via Display Port. Reverting to the September game ready drivers everything looks fine. Update to something new and it no longer detects the monitor resolution.
I’ve updated the Aorus firmware to F08, and then updated the Nvidia drivers successfully. Everything looks great.
Hi, I’ve set-up an account just to thank you. Life saver. I was losing my mind trying to figure out this issue. I even ended up formating my PC… Thanks.
Thanks
I can confirm after having the same issue, with a RTX 2060 and 3 monitors FI27Q, updating the firmware from F03 to F08, and then updating the drivers again it were no longer an issue.
For the update to be possible you need to have an USB cable connected and only 1 monitor at the time when updating for it to be working correctly, takes about 5 min to update 1 monitor with new firmware.
Hello! Sorry for my bad English, but I saw this thread and needed to ask. I’ve been having this same problem for months, the same monitor and a 3070ti that stayed at 1024x860 (or less).
Right now I don’t have the USB cable that came with the monitor, what cable should I buy to solve it?
Thanks a lot!
Welcome @aaron.ngk to the NVIDIA developer forums.
I recommend having a look at the Monitor product pages and check their information, it should contain all you need.
The monitor already comes with the correct USB cable. If you don’t have that anymore, my guess woul dbe it is a USB 3 Type B on the Monitor side. Like this cable:

Hope that helps!
Thank you! This process solved my issue too.
