Can't install CUDA Toolkit (read for more details). Please help, thanks!

I download cuda_12.2.0_536.25_windows.exe, then got 3 problems (as given below) and don’t know how to solve them. Please help, thanks!

1. I change the location to D drive (because my C drive go low), but after installation (even though it failed), I see it is still installed into the default destination. As I know, the alert (of needing more space) still appears (before I clean up something to free some space to test), and then the folder still appears in C drive (even though it is empty due to failure) instead of D drive.

2. I installed VISUAL STUDIO 2022 before, but the alert (of requesting me to install Visual Studio) still appears. I then try upgrading and fixing the VISUAL STUDIO, then reinstalling the CUDA, but the alert still appears.

3. Finally, I got the result that “NVIDIA Installer failed” (as attached photos).

So, what should I do to install CUDA Toolkit to D drive correctly without any problem?

I have a similar problem when installing cuda_9.0.176_win10_network.exe.
My free C drive space was about 4 GB, I specify the temporary Installation folder as well as all 3 CUDA destinations to be on D drive, yet my C drive still got filled and the installation failed.

(I’ve also deselected PhysX and the Graphics Driver as this is an older version that I only need to run some code.)

Did any of you found a solution? I’m having the same problem. I also tried to do a clean installation of Visual Studios on D drive and even specifying the temp files to be in there the cuda toolkit is always installed on C drive
