I have search the forum and found topics related to this problem.
I check localrc file in both 32&64 version of pgi
They both have correct path with Fedora Core 4 (with compat-gcc-32-g77-3.2.3-47.fc4).
However, no matter which PGI(32 or 64) compiler(latest 6.0.4) I choose,
crtbegin.o error happend all the time.
Fedora Core 4 is very new and thus not yet supported. The error your seeing is due to the install script not recognizing FC4. We do have a patch for the installer so it will install properly, however, we have not yet validated FC4 and don’t officially support it yet. In general with new OS’s, Fortran just works, C might have problems, and C++ does have problems due to changes to the OS’s template libraries. I don’t know if this is the case here, but something to keep in mind.
If you’d like to get the FC4 patch, please send a email to trs@pgroup.com. Once we have validated FC4, we will post this patch for general download.
Due to hardware problems (MB is also very new), we don’t have choice.
Fedora Core 4 x86_64 is only OS work perfectly with ATI RS480 chips
(Good choice if you plan to build new cluster, this chip builts in with everything include VGA).
I have tried Core 3 but trouble with SerialATA.
If patch only works with fortran, is MPI installed sucessfully only with fortran?
