cudaError_enum

Hi,

When I try and run any of the samples I get an error like:

First-chance exception at 0x772842eb in BlackScholes.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: cudaError_enum at memory location 0x0012fb0c…

I am running Vista x86 with a Tesla C870 and the CUDA 2.0 Beta toolkit.

Also, I have only installed the SDK and Tools, not the Vista display driver as presumably I dont need this with a Tesla card?

Any ideas?

I believe Tesla is not working yet in Vista at this time. For a GPU to be usable by CUDA under Vista, you have to extend your desktop on it.

Check the release notes, I think it is mentioned there.

I couldnt see anything about this in the release notes for 2.0 beta.

Bummer :(

Any idea on timescales, we really want to get going with this stuff but we dont want to go back to XP?

I guess I could buy another video card but kind of defeats having a stack of Tesla’s!

Got it working :D

Simply extended my desktop onto the Tesla card and now all the samples work.

Hmm, that is definitely interesting, did yo have to trick Vista, or can you just extend a desktop onto a video card that has no video-out?
