DGX Dashboard sending usage data to NVidia by default?

Hi NVidia. I noticed that in the DGX Dashboard settings the sharing of usage data with NVidia is turned on by default. Shouldn’t this be an Opt-In option? At least for the EU region.
But personally I think it should always be Opt-In, or at least be notified about it when you run the app the first time.

I think it really should be. I also noticed that when i manually toggled it off during start up, it was actually toggled back on automatically in the settings.

I just checked the telemetry settings again in DGX Dashboard and the ‘Analytics and Usage’ option was enabled again. Even though I turned it off two days ago.

Actually, when you turn it off and confirm the change. When I then refresh the dashboard page, it is showing as turned on again. So it never turns off.

@NVidia, can this be fixed?

Hi, this is a visual UI bug that we are working on fixing in a future update. We have confirmed that if you switch to turn off telemetry it will not send anything.

Telemetry should have arrived auto “off” with a pop for consent

Finding out later that it was auto “on” is not cool

The telemetry option is set when you go through the OOBE when setting up the Spark for the first time. Telemetry does not automatically send unless you choose it to.

I declined on the OOBE screen but it was toggled on even thought I declined on both Sparks

Yeah as I said, this is a visual glitch which we are fixing, but your choice was kept.
