device: NVIDIA DGX Spark / GB10
SYMPTOM
The dashboard (localhost:11000/updates) “July 2026” system-update card never clears, despite repeatedly pressing the green Update button (8+ attempts, each triggering apt upgrade + reboot). Package-layer updates (e.g. the mesa set 25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 → .4) DO apply correctly, but the OTA card/badge stays lit permanently.

REMAINING NON-MATCHING ITEMS (never fixable via Update button / apt)
Two station metapackages are simply never installed:
nvidia-system-station-apps (expected >= 2404.26.01-1, “not found”)
nvidia-system-station-games (expected >= 2404.26.01-1, “not found”)
These exist in the repo but the dashboard flow appears to use apt upgrade semantics,
which will never install never-present packages. On a headless inference server these
station packages are also arguably not desirable.
Firmware/DMI checks can never pass on this unit:
SOCFW SBP:R:2.152.15 != 2.155.11
EC 3.3.2 != 3.5.8
EC Unfused 3.3.2 != 3.5.8
TPM reads literally “SOCTS” != 7.516.1
Supporting evidence that these are not applyable here:
fwupdmgr get-updates --json → { “Devices” : [] } (nothing pending; not even EC/TPM enumerated)
fwupdmgr get-devices: EC and TPM are not present in the device list at all
journal: “gnome-remote-de[1578]: Init TPM credentials failed because No TPM device found,
using GKeyFile as fallback” → no TPM device exists on this board, so the TPM OTA check
can never report a matching version.
ASK
Please confirm whether the dashboard badge logic requires 100% (155/155) DMI match including
station metapackages + EC/TPM checks that fwupd cannot enumerate on GB10; if so the badge is
un-clearable by design on headless DGX Spark units. Note another user (sydikraer, same build:
driver 580.178.04, kernel 7.0.0-1019, DGX 7.6.0, EC 3.3.2, SBP 2.152.15, installed-name OTA2604,
fwupdmgr “no updates available”) has the identical profile.
