Driver 390.25 freezes system - "mapping multiple BARs"

A Fedora 27 KDE Xorg install sometimes freezes when opening Vivaldi, which is a Chromium-based browser. I’m able to move the mouse, but nothing else, including the usual array of keyboard shortcuts help.

It doesn’t happen every time. If it does not happen, the desktop is rock solid, including high load number crunching for hours on CPU+GPU. It has been running Fedora 25-27 for a year without h/w issues. This change is recent.
On freeze, I’m still able to SSH into the machine. Dmesg says this:

[ 125.297179] NVRM: GPU at PCI:0000:09:00: GPU-1dcba5bb-3f9b-139f-03dc-de35c8a438c8
[ 125.297181] NVRM: GPU Board Serial Number:

Sometimes, it’s able to ‘recover’ to the login screen, but the session is gone.
If it is able to recover, which takes about 5 minutes, this shows up in dmesg:

[ 752.860554] nvidia-modeset: Freed GPU:0 (GPU-1dcba5bb-3f9b-139f-03dc-de35c8a438c8) @ PCI:0000:09:00.0

If it’s not able to recover, killing Vivaldi does not help.

Same issues here except on gnome. Most consistent way to reproduce for me is either chrome video or Dota 2. 4.15 kernel on arch have logs but not at a computer at the moment.

El-necro bump but I’m getting caller os_map_kernel_space.part.13+0x6d/0x80 [nvidia] mapping multiple BARs constantly if restarting certain applications. System crashes back to greeter (lightdm). I’ve got Vivaldi open like the OP however it does it even without it. Restarting Steam is 100% going to trigger, some times VLC will as well.

It’s been several kernels, drivers and all around updates since the OP and this is still an issue.
