Driver Difference?

Hi,

I just wanted to install cuda 3.0 and therefore downloaded:

• devdriver_3.0_winvista-win7_32_197.13_general.exe
• cudatoolkit_3.0_win_32.exe
• gpucomputingsdk_3.0_win_32.exe
  from [url=“http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_3_0_downloads.html”]http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_3_0_downloads.html[/url]

However when I search just for grafic card drivers on the main page(NVIDIA - Download Drivers) i find the following file:

• 197.13_desktop_win7_winvista_32bit_international_whql

My question is, whats the difference between the following drivers and which one do I have to install to use CUDA 3.0?

• devdriver_3.0_winvista-win7_32_197.13_general.exe (89,5MB)
• 197.13_desktop_win7_winvista_32bit_international_whql (114MB)

You will have to install the “devdriver_3.0_winvista-win7_32_197.13_general.exe (89,5MB)” to be able to use CUDA 3.0 capabilities.

Hi,

thx for the reply.

So all I have to do is to install the devdriver (and leave the 197.13_desktop_win7_winvista_32bit_international_whql at all).?!
And before that do I have to deinstall my old driver or can I simply install the new one on top?
