ERROR: arch not found (PATH = $PATH) Exiting..

Friends, I have trouble installing the pgi 6.1 on ubuntu 7.10 AMD 64 bits. When you type the command . /Install, appears this error: ERROR: arch not found (PATH = $PATH)

What should I do.

Hi Puffy,

Please change “arch” to “uname -m” in install script. Please let us know if this helps.

It worked, more now appeared another error: ERROR: unknown glibc version (2.6.1).
Test: 364: / usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/3.4.6 /: unexpected operator


What can be?

Hi,

6.1 is an older release and not yet supported newer glibc. I would recommend you install our latest release 7.1-2 instead.

If you want to install 6.1 on new OS, please contact trs@pgroup.com on how to proceed.
