Ethernet connection design for Jetson TX2

Dear NV team,

To connect TX2 carrier board to Microhard pMDDL2450 by Ethernet with 100Mbps on one PCB, is it possible to use transformer-less design? For example, by using capacitors?

The 2 modules are existing with common ground plane with short PCB trace. There is not enough space to put transformer(s).

The distance between the 2 Ethernet ports (to be connected) is less than 2 inches. Microhard pMDDL2450 supports 10/100BaseT.

You can try it by yourself but we don’t suggest that as it is not validated on Jetson.
