I have a pretty good server, a Dell 7920, with great specs. The graphics card is an RTX A6000, but I still experience lag when running Isaac Sim
Thank you for bringing this performance issue to our attention. To better assist you with the lag you’re experiencing when running Isaac Sim, please provide more information. Can you describe the lag in more detail? What specific steps can we follow to reproduce this problem? Can you observe the problem with any tutorial in the documentation?
Some general tips for lag are to not run the viewport resolution too high. So you would need to take “viewport fill” OFF and then select something like 1080p or 720p.
Also use the ECO MODE as much as possible in the Rendering settings.
Also make sure you have no other GPU apps open. Anything that uses the GPU in the background can cause issues.
Are you running this directly on your workstation or is this being streamed in ? Obviously we cannot comment on streaming lag. Just direct app lag.
When I turned off some cameras and ROS features, the FPS increased from 11 to 30. However, my friend’s system, also running on Windows, with an i7 14th-gen processor and a 4070Ti graphics card, has a starting FPS of 60.
Please try the latest version, Isaac Sim 4.2, and let us know if you still observe this performance issue (where the 4070Ti system has better performance).
