External monitor via HDMI drops to 1FPS after update to 6.1.0-kali5-amd64

After I updated to 6.1.0-kali5-amd64 my external monitor gifts me with 1 FPS when I change the display mode to “external monitor” only. The FPS of my laptop is fine when I switch to my notebook screen only. When I change the display mode to “mirror displays” I get 160 FPS on my external monitor also.

Starting Kali with an older kernel is not resolving the issue. It seems that the Intel Corporation TigerLake-H GT1 is used for the screen of my laptop, which works fine. For the external monitor my NVIDIA Corporation GA106M GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile is used. The Nvidia driver for Kali consists of 2 packages 1)nvidia-driver 2)nvidia-cuda-toolkit. I cannot downgrade those 2 via apt or aptitude since there is just one version listet.

I tried to install the newer driver I got from the nvidia site:

Linux X64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver
Version: 525.89.02

but this is a .run file & when I start this .run file in recovery mode it tells me that I need to install the drivers the way they were installed before. I failed to find .deb files in this .run file to manually install. The mouse curse is not included in this issue & is lag free on both screens, also when I select only"external monitor".

I found in the output of dmesg | grep -i nvidia of the returning error:

After I executed “startx – -logverbose 6” my xfce Session was canceled so I executed the script without executing this command. I hope its fine too. Tank you for your help.

So I was able to fix this issue with a work around. Since My Razer Blade 17 got a hybrid graphic, I was able to go into the BIOS & disable the Nvidia GPU by selecting “discrete GPU only” & turn off NVIDIA Optimus. That means that, the Nvidia GPU is no longer available.
