Feature Request: Real-Time Video Frame Interpolation (30→60fps) in RTX Video Enhancement

Hi NVIDIA Team,

I’d like to propose a feature enhancement to RTX Video Super Resolution (VSR) or a new RTX Video Enhancement module:

Please consider adding AI-based real-time frame interpolation (e.g. 30fps → 60fps) for video playback.

As a user of the RTX 5080 I believe the hardware has more than enough performance to support temporal frame generation in video, similar to what’s currently available in Topaz Video AI or SVP (SmoothVideo Project).

This would dramatically improve the smoothness of low-frame-rate video content (e.g. 24/30fps) during playback in browsers or media players. Since NVIDIA already implements frame generation in gaming (DLSS 3 / Smooth Motion), the technical groundwork exists via the Optical Flow Accelerator and AI inference.

Many users would welcome this in:

  • RTX VSR for browser playback (YouTube, Netflix, etc.)
  • A standalone SDK or integration with players like MPC-HC, MPV, VLC

Please consider this request for future driver or RTX Video SDK updates. The demand for AI-enhanced media playback is growing, and NVIDIA is in a great position to lead in this space.

Thanks for the amazing work so far.

Best regards,
