I am using an RTX2080 Ti in an eGPU box (the razer core X). It works fine for several months but, this week, when I connect my eGPU and run: nvidia-smi
The command line fail with this message : NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
Usually running the command: nvidia-modprobe
Solves the issue but not this time.
I tried to look at my system log to see if there are any issues but I found nothing suspicious or informative in them.
Did someone run into a similar issue? Where can I search for informative logs or error traces ?
