HDMI support on the jetson orin nano SOM

We are designing a custom carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano SOM and plan to use an HDMI connector instead of a DisplayPort connector.

We noticed that the NVIDIA EVK schematics include circuitry for both HDMI and DisplayPort, although only the DisplayPort connector is populated on the EVK. Can we reuse the same HDMI reference design on our carrier board to enable HDMI output with the Orin Nano? If there are any design considerations or limitations, please provide additional details.

We also understand that the latest JetPack release introduces Super Mode support for the Orin Nano. Could you please confirm whether, when designing a carrier board for the Orin Nano Super SOM, the only hardware impact is the increased power consumption? Specifically, can we assume that the supply rail voltages remain unchanged and that only the power delivery capability needs to be scaled accordingly?

What is the power requirement for jetson orin nano super som module?

Yes you can depopulate the components on the DP side and populate the HDMI side. Refer to section 9.2 of the Jetson Orin NX Series and Orin Nano Series Design Guide, which the reference board follows.

Please refer to the Jetson Orin Nano Series Module Data Sheet. The MAXN_SUPER mode still fits in the VDD_IN IMAX of 5A @5V spec as non-super.
