Basically what was shown in the promotional videos.
I’ve used Create for a while now and I think creating the virtual environment with exact accuracy, creating and animating all the models, characters and robots is going to be a lengthy task. Is there a feature I’m not aware of? Something that can create 3d environment from 2d images, for example?
Hmm that is a tough question to answer. There are no easy ways to shortcut the process of building a virtual factory except building it yourself or buying assets and previous examples of such, from popular stores like SketchFab and Turbosquid.
We are always working on ways to improve workflow and speed up the creative process but it would still require some building.
For content to fill the factory, we do have a lot of great assets ready to go in the Nvidia Asset Library. We have people, shelving, storage. Safety equipment etc. Plenty to bring it to life.
If you are referring to generating 3D models from 2D images, you may be referring to Nvidia NERF which can do that, but it is still very experimental and only works well for enclosed geometry.
So in this given video (Mercedes-Benz adopts Omniverse…) can you please tell me what are the apps used to create something like this? Is it only Create?
I do not have direct knowledge of their 3D pipeline but I would assume they are using Create, alongside popular Digital Content Creation (DCC) tools and CAD like Inventor, Revit, Solidworks, Creo. I am sure their factory models are incredibly detailed and have many many engineers working on those models fulltime. Create helps bring their CAD data to life in realtime, but the raw factory data is their own and I am sure they have very significant resources behind it.
