How to update opengl version

My gpu is RTX8000 and I’ve already installed nvidia driver 460. However when i run glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version", it shows my OpenGL version is 3.1. Though I have reinstalled nvidia driver many times, it still throws X Error of failed request: GLXBadFBConfig problem. How to update opengl version to recommended OpenGL 4.6?

Hi, try uninstalling the drivers and opengl again if you installed it separately or using apt-get install.
We recommend installing the NVIDIA driversuing the .run installer. Try the 470 version here:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/179599/en-us

Here’s a guide to do the install.
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/prod_launcher/prod_kit/linux-troubleshooting.html#q1-how-to-install-a-driver

I followed your instructions and it stucks in loop login problem. And when i run inix -G, it shows

inxi -Gx Graphics: Card-1: Red Hat QXL paravirtual graphic card bus-ID: 00:02.0
           Card-2: NVIDIA Device 1e30 bus-ID: 00:0c.0
Display Server: N/A drivers: modesetting, fbdev, vesa, nouveau FAILED: nvidia
tty size: 142x33 Advanced Data: N/A out of X

Can I have more info on your setup, please?
Are you on Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04?
You may need to blacklist the nouveau drivers and have X11 installed.
Do you have a display monitor connected to the GPU?

My os is ubuntu 18.04, the nouveau drivers are blacked and X11 is installed. Isaac sim is running on a cloud server.

Can you try running Isaac Sim in headless mode?

./isaac-sim.headless.websocket.sh

Solved. I used isaac sim docker to run headless kit server and it worked.
