I have removed the sudo user mistakenly in Nvdia Jetson Orin Nano

Hi ,

I have removed the sudo user mistakenly in Nvdia Jetson Orin Nano. How to add the user back to the sudo group.

Hi I am having an issue with Sudo user access. I have removed the sudo user mistakenly in the Nvdia Jetson orin nano. After that I am unable to add the sudo user, I have tried the same method in linux it works but not working on the Jetson Orin nano hardware. Could you help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
You may try this:

Flashing Support — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide 1 documentation

If it still does not help, we would suggest re-flash the system. Or see if other users can share experience.

Just some detail on this: If no sudo user is left to put your user back into that group, then you have to flash. It isn’t too hard to put a user back in if you have a second account which has sudo.

In the case of flashing, you could first clone, fix the issue on the clone, and then use that for flashing. Everything would be the same (you’d have to use the same exact L4T release for clone and restore).

I have refreshed it. It works now. thanks for the info!

This looks a better solution! But I have reflashed the packages once again quickly to get the access back. Hope this help me in the future.
