I2Cset, no boot

I’ve had a problem similar to this post

I mucked around with I2Cset and I think I’ve overwritten something critical as the nano no longer boots. I followed the rectification steps in the other post, changing the board number to suit the production board (400). The board tries to boot but fails (see UART attached). I’ve tried flashing through SDK Manager and the terminal with the standard image to no avail.

I’m hoping it is just a difference between the rectification in the other thread and the fact I’m using the production board. Please help.

I discovered that the USB port I was using became unservicable. I succesfully flashed two other boards but am still getting issues with this one. I get the below output when I set the board ID, Version and SKU manually in the conf file. If I don’t set these values manually I get a “Parsing board information failed.” error.

This looks like a hardware issue. You may need to RMA this device.

It’s because I modified EEPROM values by accident. Is there any way I can force it to flash so I can get back in and fix them?

Could you try to comment out the if/else condition in “SKIP_EEPROM_CHECK” in flash.sh and apply the above one line append and try again?

Thanks Wayne, I commented out the skip eeprom check as attached. I got the same UART and Flash results as previuosly. Did I do something wrong?

We will check if any other workaround to bypass it.

Are you sure applying the board_config_p3448.xml does not help the error is still same?

Yeah I pasted it in as per previous post, at the end of “p3448-0000.conf.common”. It yielded the same result.

Actually we dealt with such issue before, and they got resolved by that board config method. But this is a long thread and we also shared some modified nvtboot binary. Maybe you could try that too.

And be careful about the file name here because that user was on Nano devkit which uses sdcard. The files you need to change are different.

Hi Wayne, Thanks for that. It is the post that I referenced in my first post. I just tried it again to be sure and still got the same problem. UART is below. Screenshot of changes to jetson-nano-emmc.conf attached also. I copied in the nvtboot_20190711 files and made the BCF file change. The other change to the xml mentioned in that post no longer applies to newer jetpack versions it seems.

Do those nvtboot files need to be changed for the production emmc version?

Yes, nvtboot is needed for every device to get flashed.

If replacing nvtboot does not help, then I need to consult with other engineers and may reply later.
