I asked because I see differences in statements. Someone wrote that with SLI disabled it is OK. Someone else gave a way to make the new drivers fully working
Hey MarkusHoHo Hello… Maybe you can bring something new to this topic… Is this the end of nVidia’s reaction?
At least I am still following both this thread and the actual internal bug we have to track it.
Sadly though still no change. It is hard to reproduce with the devices our QA has, if at all. Much less root cause. I might not be at liberty to share this, but the good news is that the last comment on the bug is from yesterday.
My issue is the same as others, and I used to be able to update to the latest. Still, from what I can gather, the compatibility loss of the newer drivers causes issues on the system side that make even non-SLI slightly temperamental. The system generally feels less responsive. I returned to the much older drivers with DDU, and suddenly, the system was far better. I can use both SLI and Non-SLI without any issues besides general SLI compat profiles needing to be made in Nvidia Profile Inspector.
But even after DDU and the new drivers, Windows seems to have issues with requesting the second GPU to do stuff due to not having permission to use graphics hardware, and each GPU is temperamental. Turbo in the MSI Dragon Center also can no longer be used, crashing in more games than I’m willing to list, showing that the newer drivers cannot even support an extra 100Mhz without dying.
With the older supported drivers, Turbo even works in SLI mode. I even managed to force a few Unity games that refuse to let older drivers play modern games, and the performance is still better than using the newest driver.
Before updating in Palworld, I would get 70-90FPS using SLI
40-50 without SLI
With the latest update, I got 25-35
Rolling back to the older driver with DDU grants me back the full FPS.
That may also be due to the system acting strange and navigating folders feeling weird. I am not a computer expert, but it feels similar to the read/write being maxed out, when a drive is failing or when the I/O is overloaded. With SLI enabled on the latest drivers and trying to navigate around to disable one of the GPUs or use DDU, I hear the input error beep/system speaker beep pretty frequently, and I have to wait for the mouse to move again. The CPU also rises for me, so I’m guessing that is just a conflict with the MSI software/hardware in the laptop vs the latest drivers. I remember drivers somewhere between the last supported and the newest ones used to almost loop restart the GPUs if they were in SLI mode. Adjusting their timeout in the registry only caused the system to lock up and shut off eventually.
It’s a shame it’s impossible to isolate what change caused it as multiple users across multiple locations are reporting specifically the driver stated previously as being the last known working, so something must have changed during that.
Also, there is a difference between the MSI 83VR and Cyberpowers 83VR
I’m using one from MSI and got it in the UK
RAM is at the default 64GB total RAM and 2400Mhz per stick (I’m considering upgrading to G.Skill if they will ever respond to emails.)
OS runs on the original M.2 drive Raid 0 it came with.
The bios are from the MSI GT83VR drivers page.
Also, I’m not sure if anyone has this issue, but my HDMI and Mini ports are recognized via power on my TVs but refuse to output as the display isn’t detected on the laptop. I have no idea if this is connected or not. It has been a problem for a while for me, and the HDMI and Mini ports are both part of the GPU, so I’m wondering if we could connect some dots with that, perhaps.
.Hello MarkusHoHo. It is a pity that nVidia are not able to see what has been changed and is causing the problem since it is known from which drivers the problems began.I do not understand this. But it seems to me by common sense that you can check what modification caused it.But well…I do not know
I have same problem on my GT83VR 7RF Titan 1080 SLI update it today 566.36 not working and fromat to new windows 😑 so can work again cos always frease when starting windows
And how does it behave on you with Sli disabled on the new drivers? Does it work well?
i didn’t try to disabled sli and update it
Could you check it for us?
I try it now work great on sli disabled
But after i try enabled it back windows go slow can’t move anything
Thank you for checking. This is important information.
Such a little off-topic information to improve the mood…Have you tried overclocking the display from that measly 60Hz to more? If you haven’t yet then do it.These displays accept 95Hz without any problems .I checked it on my GT83 and my buddy’s.
Hello moody_moody010.Which Win are you using 10 or 11?
win 11
Omg, and I bought a new computer because I thought the laptop was broken.
Why when I contacted nvidia support no one told me about such a topic on the forum.
Ps. You know (Nvidia ) how much time and money I lost trying to fix it. Even Msi tried to help me but to no avail. Another question is why this problem has not been fixed yet ?
es 2025 tengo una titan gt83vr y sigo sin poder instalar drivers nuevos!!! para cuando una solucion???
I can push for 100 and often comply. I only had it fail once, and afterwards, it worked seamlessly, so I am unsure what happened. But it is the furthest it can go. Also, I still got the issue even after removing both cards, cleaning them and making sure they didn’t go above 50C
Also, Nvidia, please fix this issue. People who trusted your brand spent good money on these laptops. Your driver packages are getting bigger and bigger by the day, yet they seem to miss vital information that allows our GTX1080s to remain functional.
Also would be willing to perhaps do a meet up to represent this issue if your unable to procure laptops yourself, anything to get the newer drivers and stop seeing all the messages telling me to get new drivers from games. I still essentially have the ability to pass through solid ground on Helldivers 2 unless I tweak my settings and I’m struggling more and more with that due to being on older drivers meaning I have to manually make profiles in Nvidia Inspector just to fix the issues I cause to geomatry for other players.
seria lo mejor una reunion y presionar una solucion , el problema no viene de el hardware es controlador de videos.
