IGX T5000 EQOS support

Hi

I am looking for information regarding the EQOS network controller support.

According to the current documentation available, EQOS network controller isn’t supported on AGX, but is on IGX through UPHY0 Lane 5 (UPHY_RX5/TX5). Can you confirm ?

Also in the TRM, Figure 1.1 Thor Series SoC Block Diagram, we can see the EQOS 2.5Gb Enet, and also the EQOS 1Gb Enet from the Safety Island.

Are those 2 different network controllers ?

Where can I find more documentation on those to use integrate them ?

Regards

Thomas

To which documentation are you referring? You are correct that Jetson Thor (AGX) does not have ETHER_QOS. IGX T5000 only has EQOS on the FSI domain and runs at 1Gbps.

The Thor SoC itself has two EQOS controllers (one for the SoC domain and one for FSI domain) but the IGX T5000 module only supports the EQOS on FSI. Only the DRIVE Thor SoCs (automotive) additionally support EQOS on the SoC domain.

Hi

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve re-read datasheets and design guides for both AGX and IGX modules, and indeed my confusion came from the EQOS controller in FSI domain as described in IGX T5000 datasheet.

However I still have a pending question. In Jetson Thor and IGX T5000 Carrier Board Design Comparison and Migration Application Note (ID DA-12303-001, version 1.0), Chapter 3 Module Interface Comparisons, Table 3-2 UPHY0 Configurations :

Lane 5 is defined as SNN function, where as in the IGX T5000 Modules Design Guide (Id DG-12265-001, version 1.0), it is defined as reserved.

Also this same UPHY0 lane 5 isn’t listed in the IGX T5000 Pinmux Config template.

What is this SNN function and is it really available to IGX T5000 ?

Thomas

SNN stands for "single node net” and means the lanes are unconnected/not used/reserved.

Thanks. I couldn’t find the meaning of the acronym anywhere.
