Image Based Over-the-Air(OTA) Update for thor

Hi,

I followed Software Packages and the Update Mechanism — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide to test image-based OTA.

The documentation mentions that an OTA tool needs to be downloaded. I searched for the OTA tool, but it seems that only NVIDIA Jetson Linux 36.4.4 provides one.

There is no corresponding OTA tool for Jetson Linux 38.2.1

When I tried using the OTA tool from r36.4.4, it caused issues. So I’m wondering:
is it not supported yet, or have the OTA tools simply not been updated?

Target board(JETSON_AGX_THOR_DEVKIT) and base version(R38_2_2) is not supported

rel-36 doesn’t support Thor series. it doesn’t support OTA update from rel-36 to rel-38.
please refer to developer guide, Welcome — NVIDIA Jetson Linux Developer Guide

please download Jetpack-7.0/r38.2 for Thor series,
you may see-also r38.2 release notes for reference.

I know that Thor is based on JetPack 7.0 / r38.2, but I couldn’t find any download link related to the OTA tool(r38.2)

However, r36.4.4(NVIDIA Jetson Linux 36.4.4) does provide an OTA tool download link, so I tried testing with the OTA tool from the r36 release just to see if it works. Obviously, it doesn’t work.

So my question is: does Thor currently not support image based OTA ?

Additional note:

From what I can tell, the OTA tool needs to be downloaded separately and is not included in Jetson Linux itself.

Image-based OTA is not supported for Thor in Jetpack-7.0 release version.
however, please expect next Jetpack public release (i.e. JP-7.1) will support that.
