We would like to ask for your technical guidance regarding the acceptable temperature limits and thermal design requirements for Jetson Orin NX in this type of application.
Specifically, could you please help clarify the following points:
- What is the maximum recommended operating temperature for the Jetson Orin NX module in a continuous 24/7 industrial outdoor application?
- Which temperature should we use as the main design limit: ambient temperature, module case temperature, SoC junction temperature, GPU/CPU thermal sensor temperature, or another measurement point?
- What are the thermal throttling and shutdown temperature thresholds for Jetson Orin NX?
- For an outdoor camera product in a tropical climate such as Vietnam, what maximum internal enclosure temperature should we design for to ensure reliable long-term operation?
- Are there any official thermal design guidelines, heatsink recommendations, thermal resistance targets, or derating guidelines for Jetson Orin NX?
- Does NVIDIA provide different temperature grades or industrial-grade versions of Jetson Orin NX suitable for outdoor/industrial deployment?
- For product qualification, what thermal validation tests would NVIDIA recommend, such as high-temperature operation, thermal cycling, burn-in, solar radiation testing, or humidity testing?
Our target application includes AI inference for traffic monitoring, camera/video processing, and continuous edge AI operation. Therefore, the module may operate under sustained CPU/GPU/NPU load for long periods.
We would appreciate it if you could provide the official operating temperature specifications, recommended thermal design limits, and any relevant documentation for Jetson Orin NX.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards,
