Hi there @Shoonka and welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
I hope you have already seen and checked out our path-tracing developer pages? There you will find all the resources that are currently available on the topic. And of course you can use that SDK on any project, Unreal Engine ones included.
Whether we will extend our Unreal Engine support specifically for path-tracing in the future is something I cannot say anything about.
Thank you for your interest in this technology!
Yes, I have seen the SDK, but it goes well beyond my level to integrate it into Unreal. If it could be integrated into the Nvidia RTX branch in the future, it would be a great help.
There is currently no official announcement or confirmation from Epic Games, the developers of the Unreal Engine, regarding a real-time path tracing implementation similar to Portal RTX.
However, the Unreal Engine already supports real-time ray tracing, which allows for more accurate and realistic lighting in real-time rendering. The Unreal Engine also has a number of other advanced features and tools for creating high-quality visuals and immersive experiences.
It is worth noting that real-time path tracing can be computationally intensive and requires powerful hardware, so it may not be suitable for all projects or platforms. Additionally, there may be technical and performance limitations that need to be addressed to make real-time path tracing feasible in the context of real-time rendering engines like the Unreal Engine.
Hello @brandonkevin3245, welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums and thank you for your comments.
