Is RTX 3090, CUDA 11.7, NVidia 515.65.01 on Ubuntu 22.04 supported?

I have custom built PC equipped with Intel Core i9-13900K processor, Corsair DDR5-5600MHz 64GB (2 x 32GB) RAM, and GeForce RTX 3090 GPU on ASUS PRIME Z790-P-CSM Mother Board. It is powered by Corsair RM1000x Power Supply 1000W. The RAM is XMP enabled and runs on 5600 MHz.

The problem is that Ubuntu freezes frequently on this PC. Most of the time, I hardly use a fraction of the resources. For example, text editor, terminal, VS code editor, or something like that!

I made it a dual-boot PC and noticed that Windows is not freezing until now. So, my guess is driver issues with Ubuntu!

I want to debug the issue and possibly fix. Please advise.

The question is cross-posted at NVIDIA forums,. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Unsure it is related but I have similar issues only after the pc resumes from suspending. Related freezing post.

What brand and make of your 3090? I’m curious as I have this issue and have evga xc3

you may want to check out arch troubleshooting nvidia issues they have some steps but none have worked for myself.

It is MSI GeForce RTX 3090 VENTUS 3X 24G.

BTW, during the freezing, the PC does not respond at all. Furthermore, the keyboard and mouse do not work. The monitor stops updating content, such as it displays the old time. There is no choice but to reboot the PC forcefully.
