Isaac Sim 6.2 General Availability

Isaac Sim 6.2 GA

Isaac Sim 6.2 is available! This is primarily a bug-fix release, delivered to support Isaac Lab 3.0 GA. Building on 6.1, it focuses on simulation consistency and reliability, with targeted improvements to robot validation and teleoperation workflows.

Key fixes and improvements

  • Startup reliability. Added timeouts so Isaac Sim does not wait indefinitely for an unresponsive asset server.

  • Robot-asset workflows. Improved URDF export texture resolution and collision-geometry handling.

  • Terrain generation. Preserved existing stage content when generating heightmap terrain.

  • Newton simulation consistency. Fixed state-buffer handling across simulation substeps and CUDA graph capture, preventing lost substeps and tensor-view writes.

  • Robot control. Corrected Newton position-target indexing for floating-base robots.

  • Teleoperation reliability. Fixed an issue where inverse kinematics could overwrite gripper degrees of freedom.

  • System Identification reliability. Prevented high-rate telemetry from stalling solves before the first optimizer iteration and improved validation reporting.

Additional updates

  • Expanded System Identification with paired untuned/tuned validation replays, backend capability checks, and transactional parameter writeback.

  • Added Robotiq 2F-85 and Hand-E floating-gripper scenes and profiles to teleoperation workflows.

  • Added read-only, zero-copy live raycast and joint-state buffers through experimental physics-sensor APIs.

  • Updated Kit SDK to 110.4, Newton to 1.6.1, and MuJoCo and MuJoCo Warp to 3.12.0.

Upgrading from 6.1

Review changes affecting Cortex dependencies, sensor-reading APIs, Newton tensor views, the System Identification Python environment, and UCX protocol compatibility before upgrading.

The bundled Isaac Teleop runtime remains Linux x86_64 only. Ubuntu 22.04 remains supported in 6.2, with removal planned for a future release.
