Jacket v0.5 Release: The GPU Engine for MATLAB

Hello,

We are happy to announce the release of Jacket beta version 0.5! The download also includes Jacket’s Graphics Toolbox (alpha version 0.2), now available for all operating systems. You can upgrade your version of Jacket by logging in and downloading the new release:

In this newer version of Jacket, you will find:

  • Custom MEX support - now you can write your own CUDA kernels to run on gsingles (see the mex_example)
  • New functions: filter (IIR), circshift
  • Increased performance: faster filter2 (now uses native 3x3 MATLAB kernels), faster subscript references
  • New features: sum/min/max/any/all work along first dimension of N-dimensional data
  • Bug fixes: Reshaping after subscripting now works, updated examples to use singles on the CPU side

You will also find version 0.2 of Jacket’s Graphics Toolbox, including:

  • Support for all operating systems: Windows 32-bit, Windows 64-bit, Linux 32-bit, Linux 64-bit, and MacOSX 32-bit
  • A port of the latest OpenGL API (with extensions) to MATLAB
  • New graphics examples: gfx_raindrop_example, gfx_shaded_ocean_example, gfx_interactive_ocean_example
  • Check out the demos at: http://www.accelereyes.com/graphics-toolbox.php

This beta release will expire on November 30, 2008 and we will likely end our beta period towards the end of the year. For our initial thoughts on pricing, see the following forum post: http://www.accelereyes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=69

We look forward to hearing your feedback and suggestions on our forums (http://www.accelereyes.com/forums) and look forward to continually upgrading Jacket to meet your needs. We had a fantastic time at NVISION 2008 and enjoyed meeting with many of you!
