Jetpack 4.3 cannot boot on Jetson Nano after jetpack4.5 boot

Hi. I have a problem about jetpack4.5.

I downloaded the Jetson Nano image and burn it to Micro SD card. when it boot, a warning alert:


I clicked continue. Everything was OK at that time.
But when I inserted the Old SD card with jetpack 4.3, boot failed.
I tried the sdkmanager, but not work(4.5 work but 4.4 flash failed)

I want to know how to let the Old SD card with jetpack4.3 works on my Nano.

Sdkmanager shall still work. It does not check and doesn’t care what software is pre-installed on it.

Can you share me the flash log when you failed on 4.4?

And for your old sd, you can dump the log so that we can know what happened.

Your story seems not completed.

The real problem is where does this “custom-40 pin header config” come from.

Did you run jetson-io on jetpack4.5 before? Or this is something from jetpack4.3?

A python script was executed to enable Jetson Nano PWM.

And I want to known why the nano cannot boot after dtb=jetson.create_dtb_for_header() execute on jetpack4.3.

I don’t know what kind of content is executed in that function. You better try to remember that again and ask the provider for this code.

The lib jetson-io is under the /opt/nvidia/ of jetpack4.3 image.

I mean you said there is boot error on jp4.5 and then jetson-io problem in jp4.3. What is the exact environment that has problem now?

The problem is the old card(jetpack4.3) cannot boot on the Nano(the Nano had booted with 4.5).

I try to figure out the reason why it boot failed.

And I change the L4T boot options to 1: primary kernel, the old card(jetpack4.3) boot successfully.

I guess the function create_dtb_for_header() of jetson-io changed the /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf and added another L4T boot options called Custom 40-pin Header Config.

It is expected because the bootloader and kernel dtb on your module are now a 4.5 one but your sdcard image is still a 4.3 version, I mean your kernel is still 4.3.

This is not suggested to use such combination.
