Jetson Nano was working until yesterday, now not booting

Hi, I’m a laboratory technician of UPV university (Spain). We’ve 6x Jetson nano for developing. Now we’ve a problem with one of them (bought Dec’19). Until yesterday was working. Now it isn’t booting. The boot led is green. But there isn’t any output in the HDMI port or keyboard activity. The ethernet port has no activity.

P/N: 945-13450-0000-000
S/N: 1422719008445

The release is:

R32 (release), REVISION: 4.4

I’ve tried to change the video/keyboard cables, the micro usb charge cable, the power charger 5V/3A that are working in the others jetson nano without any positive result.

Also I’ve fsck the filesystem of the microSD and is OK.

Please, any help?

Best regards.

A serial console boot log would help, and provides information even from early boot prior to Linux ever loading. See:

Starting kernel …

“The boot is locked Starting kernel…”

Any suggestions?.

I don’t personally know enough to answer, but I noticed this, which might be related to “The boot is locked…”:

(I can’t really say though since this might actually not mean anything)

Is this an SD card model on a dev kit, or something else? Have there been any device tree changes?

Thanks for the reply @linuxdev. The card is a microSD in a development kit. I haven’t made any changes to the kernel or the device tree.

Would you be able to flash the Nano’s QSPI? You could avoid using that SD card to let it flash specifically for the JetPack with R32.4.4 (which is what is currently running). To start SDK Manager such that you can see old versions, and such that you can stay at R32.4.4:
sdkmanager --archivedversions
(then flash maintaining R32.4.4)

Thanks again @linuxdev. Flashing with the sdkmanager solve the problem (R32.4.4).

Please, if you can transfer the following suggestions to the team that has prepared the manuals: make it clear that you have to put the FRC jumper (at least in the nano) and that to finish the setup process the nano must have a monitor, keyboard and mouse connected like this as internet connection. It is not clear in the sdkmanager manual it seems that this can be done by usb.

Best regards.

Best regards.

Not quite sure what is your last comment here… the setup process can be done by usb interface with the host side help.

Hello @WayneWWW, after you flash the OS of the Nano with the sdkmanager you must configure the OS (Language, Keyboard Layout, Timezone, User/pass). For that you need keyboard, mouse, video, network connected to the Nano. Then you can continue flashing the SDK with the usb connection.

Best regards.

That part could be done by the oem config on the host.

https://docs.nvidia.com/jetson/l4t/index.html#page/Tegra%20Linux%20Driver%20Package%20Development%20Guide/flashing.html#wwpID0E02C0HA

->To reconfigure the target device with oem-config

Connect the flash port to the ubuntu host and use console tool to open /dev/ttyACM0 on the host side.

Thanks for the answer @WayneWWW . It’s clear to me.
