Jetpack installation via sdk manager crashes/

When I try to install jetpack 4.6.5 linux through the sdk manager 2.0.1 (on virtual machine ubuntu 18.04) on the nano board, the installation process takes a very long time, then it throws an error- “The target is in a bad state
The Jetson target is in a bad state and cannot be flashed. Please manually put the target into recovery mode and then retry flashing.”

I install according to the instructions, the sdk finds the board, after that I remove the jumper and start installing Linux and it still does not work
a board with its own memory, without a connector for an SD card
Perhaps this is due to the fact that when the board is simply loaded without system - “test key is used”, a similar situation with my boards nano nx (

help please.

Hello @novitskijartemiy,

It is our understanding that is not recommended to use a virtual machine to flash the Jetson board, given that virtual machines don’t have full access to the actual machine HW.

Would it be possible for you to test on a computer running linux natively?

Hello Andrew, thanks for the tip!
Understood, then I will look for a machine with native Linux and try it, from next week I will report the result.

Hello @novitskijartemiy,

Sounds great!

Please keep us posted.

Well, I had common errors ( test key is used) when installing the system simply through the image and recording on a flash drive, through a diff ubuntu in virtual machine, and finally, after trying to run the SDK manager from a machine with Linux as native - it was possible to install the system and there were no errors.
Andrew, thank you very much, you save a lot of my time in future :)

Hey @novitskijartemiy,

Great to hear you were able to flash successfully.

Sure, no problem!
Please do not hesitate to reach back if you require further assistance with other aspects of your project.
