Jetson Flashing with no Host PC

Hi everyone,

I’m interested in knowing if currently there is some mechanism in which a Jetson Orin can be flashed without having a host computer connected to it?

The ultimate goal I’m looking for is to be able to flash the Orin similar to how one would do when installing an OS in a regular PC, by just plugging some external storage device such as a USB, and boot a “live” image from it that can do the flashing process. However, I’m not sure if this possible at all given how Jetsons work.

I’d appreaciate any thoughts or hints that you may have here.

Thanks in advance!

Hi JimenaSalas,

Currently, you should use a host PC and USB cable to flash the board for the first time.
Then, you could perform image-based OTA through network or USB to put the OTA package in your board.

There’s QSPI in AGX Orin so that you should at least use host PC and USB cable to flash those partitions once.
