Jetson Orin Nano dp output glitching

I’ve been trying to get my Jetson Orin Nano to boot up so I can provide step by step instructions to replicate the issue reported in Overcurrent warning & reboot on 25W mode - #5 by DaneLLL . However, I am currently facing another problem where the displayport output is glitchy. I can see the screen clearly for a few seconds, but then the screen goes black. This problem did not exist last week.

This happens even when there are no programs happening.

It is a bit difficult to use the Jetson Orin Nano in this condition. I have tested the exact same DP cable & monitor on different power modes (25W/15W and 7W) and this issue has persisted. To rule out issues with the cable & monitor themselves, I connected the output of the Jetson Nano via DP and there are no glitches in the output.

Can you kindly advise how to proceed?

This video shows an example of the glitches that occur. 3 times in about 30 seconds.

Output of Jetson Power GUI captured between the glitches. Note the very low power usage (only Chrome is open with two tabs) well below the limits.

To rule out any issues from interference on the displayport data I moved other cables away from it. Additionally, reduced the resolution to the lowest point possible (720x576 @ 50Hz). Flicker still persists.

Which Jetpack release is that?

Jetpack 6.2

@WayneWWW you mentioned that an active DP to HDMI adapter could possibly work in your reply in HDMI to Display Port - #3 by WayneWWW .

So, I’ve obtained a delayCON 1m displayport-HDMI adapter. While the display is now limited to 1080p @ 50 Hz at least the display does not flicker and is usable. 👍

Considering this an interim solution: I really want the displayport to function. It is not possible to see the virtual console (CTRL + ALT + F3) with the adapter (display just goes blank with “No HDMI signal from device” on the monitor). 🥲

I’ve tried two different monitors, and two different displayport (dp→dp) cables. All combinations lead to no video output on the screen from the Jetson Orin Nano.

The delayCON cable (dp→HDMI) works, with stable repeatable output. I have already spent four work days trying to resolve the original issue, so I will consider this a good enough solution for me to continue. ✅
