Jetson Orin Nano Super Availability

Dear awesome developers of the Jetson community,

We wanted to provide everyone with a schedule update regarding backorders of Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit - our apologies for the extended delays, and thanks for your patience as we have been working with the factory and distributors to increase production.

Due to lead times in the supply chain involved, this process had begun last year, and the effects of which should be felt in April with supply continuing to increase throughout Q2 2025. In the meantime inventory is continuing to ship out to fulfill backorders.

The extended team is working diligently to make sure kits are available to developers, and have been working with our network of distributors to share the message above. Thanks again, and we appreciate your support of the edge AI community.

If you have questions about particular orders or customer service requests, it’s recommended to first contact who you placed the order with. We are happy to help resolve any cases that require further support, and you can DM us with the details.

Is there any chance of doing something about the scalping problem BEFORE the DGX GB10 becomes orderable? There MUST be some way to fix this.
Please note that inventory held off the market by scalpers means that developers are not ramping up on creating software and a labor pool that could drive demand for your higher-margin products.

Hey thanks @kennykenny123.01, yes our priority is to get it in as many of your hands as quickly and easily as possible. Can you point me to some links or other instances you suspect this of occurring? You can DM them to me, that’s fine.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a Jetson Orin Nano Super and make YouTube tutorials for the Dutch community. My backorder has been pending since December 23, 2024.

Same here, I’ve been waiting since December 20, 2024.

I just called my sellers’ customer service, and the representative told me that it won’t be available before May 20th, 2025. This expected date has already been pushed back three times.

Nvidia, why, oh why, are you introducing hardware and allowing us to place orders, when you clearly cannot deliver?

I’m sure the factories are running at full speed, just not for us retail customers. But where is all the hardware actually going?

Do I really have to wait at least 6 months? Or is it possible to order the development kit directly from somewhere and receive it within a reasonable time frame?

Thank you @Ivanista, can you DM me the seller/distributor you have ordered from, so we can dig more into what is happening from their end? We are looking into the backlog of orders and the mean/max backorder age to check the allocations.

This was a somewhat unique case where “new” hardware was not introduced persay, it was the existing hardware with a firmware/software upgrade that enabled increased power and clock speeds. On a new product it takes several months and control runs from the factory until the board is in production and inventory accumulates in the channel. Most people including myself do not understand all the intricacies of supply chain and that wafer->on-shelf availability is typically ~20-24 weeks.

I stand by the team’s decision just to release the patches asap, as it enabled all the existing units in the field and channel with a significant performance increase - and production was increased back then, it just takes awhile. Due to the demand the backorders have gotten protracted, our sincere apologies to keep you all waiting - we’ll do a better job getting a handle on it with the network of distributors and communicating this information with customers.

Trust us it brings us no greater joy than getting these in each of your hands no matter the card, and in the background we have also been diligently improving the local AI/SW experience with the foresight of this volume ramp occurring. I hope that in retrospect we’ll view this as a temporary, albeit painful, phase of the successful roll-out of genAI to the edge for everyone.

So the NVIDIA SKU that I received from Seeed Studio in early Jan was not a “new” hardware? The availability was constrained a day after the newsletter was broadcast.

Of course, I should be asking Seeed this question because separately they introduced their version of the carrier board. But their SKU is constrained too!!

Thanks for providing a much-needed update on availability. FYI, I ordered mine on Dec 25 from SparkFun. Their support team has been responsive but now saying orders are expected to be filled in late April-May :'( Definitely hoping it’s on the earlier side of that.

Well all fun and games but the three official nvidia resellers in the EU do not take pre-orders. It remains in out stock for months now. And all the other sellers ask 4 times the normal price. Please switch to the 1 per customer strategy and allow direct orders from nvidia.

Received in India Pune and Hyderabad. Thanks.
Installed Jetpack 6.2 , mainly focusing for Vulkan study and other AI features.
Do we need to register the product for warranty and support ?

Is this same timeline applicable to the module versions as well?

Frankly I am disappointed at NVIDIA for allowing us to order something that clearly you can’t deliver. A few delays is OK. This is a mess. This is months. This makes academia plans unreliable to depend on you nvidia. I wonder if it will be the same disappointment for project digits.

Has there been any update here? i am still waiting for mineform RS Components UK

Still waiting for mine ordered 18th December (the day after release) from Seeed (Order # 4000206171). With now no delivery date available!

The annoying thing is that:-

  1. Seed took payment at the time and stated shipping date Jan 15th 2025
  2. They now apply a 3.5% “handling fee” (scam) for cancellation that was not made clear at the time of me ordering!

Not particularly happy but if these devices are not likely to become available to the wider public (outside of scalpers and influencers) any time soon I may as well take the 3% hit and wait until appropriate hardware does become available at some point.

Not a great NVidia experience at all

I also purchased ST’s flagship STM32N6 dev board with NPU in January. I am still waiting for the back order due to production issues at the factory. An official suggested that it seems that there are production issues with anything AI related due to supply and demand; some more than others.

Orderd was Confirmed December 19, 2024
Placed order via SeeedStudio.

Still no news of when this will be delivered.

Can someone help? Expedite? Refund?

Seeed Studio are selling similar versions of Jetson Orion but they have hard time fullfilling the existing orders. Here is an example :

Nvidia can only pretend like they care about consumer grade products when they are making all of their money from pro grade cards. And they have to align the consumer grade cards to be subpar than their pro grades.

Can’t wait for a consumer grade focused company to come about.

Will I get my jetson dev kit from sparkfun by April? big doubt.

I ordered my Jetson Orin Nano Super 8GB in December 2024. The delivery date keeps getting pushed back. RS Group 1st said end of Jarnuary 2025, then changed it to beginning of March 2025, then end of March. Now they saying delays again till end of July 2025. I would like my delivery to be resolved. I have been waiting for nearly 4 months. This is inappropriate to take orders and then keep delaying with indefinite and unlimited delays. Please look into my supply issues and getting some shipped to RS Group, the distributor for Hong Kong.
