K4000 and FreeSync support

I’m on an Xubuntu 19.04 system with an Nvidia Quadro K4000 GPU using the nvidia-driver-430 (open source) driver.

I’ve currently got two older Planar monitors attached and am preparing to replace them with a pair of 2K or 4K monitors. I use the system for CAD, photography and general office work. No gaming. I recently saw a mention of new FreeSync support with Nvidia drivers.

Do I have FreeSync support with the 430 driver? I’m not even sure what the implications are. Are there any issues I should be aware of when looking at new monitors for this card? I believe the two DP 2.1 ports should support 4K monitors (3840x2160).

Out of curiosity, can I concurrently hook up a third 2560x1600 (or less) monitor to the third DVI-I port without problem?

Thanks.

GSync/FreeSync is only relevant for gaming, on desktop usage it’s off anyway.
The K4000 supports up to 4 monitors, so a DualLink DVI monitor of said resolution @60Hz should work without problem.

Thank you for the quick and informative reply.
