Laptop powers off while watching 4K video (Quadro 1000M)

Hello!

I’m having issues while watching 4K video in Google Chrome on my laptop - after few minutes of playing it powers off completely. Google Chrome is with enabled hardware acceleration. It also happens if I’m trying to watch video with higher frame rate - 50/60fps.
Specifications of the machine:
Fujitsu Celsius H710 with Quadro 1000M, 8GB RAM, Intel Core i7-2760QM, openSUSE Leap 42.3/KDE Plasma 5.8 LTS. Problem occurs with driver versions 384.90, 384.111, 390.25, 390.42.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Use Google Chrome with hardware acceleration enabled;
  2. Go to YouTube and play some 4K video or FHD/60fps video.
    Problem does not occur with MESA/Nouveau.

Also data from ‘sensors’ showed up that CPU reaches excessive temperatures.

The fan is working? No dust?

Yes, checked soon.
I had a suggestion while researching for the problem ‘that youtube uses VP9 which is not hardware accelerated until KabyLake. So everything goes on the cpu.’ But I could not explain to me why this is happening only with NVIDIA proprietary driver and not with MESA/Nouveau.
