There is 340.106 listed for 7 and 9 gen cards. However, these cards also work with latest driver 390.XX.
What are the benefits of using ver 340 over ver 390 with older GPUs? What’s the difference?

gen 9 means GT9100 etc, not GTX960 etc.

Well, then they should probably call it gen 9xxx, not gen 9. That’s the price one pays for giving misleading names to their products, too.
