Nsight Visual Studio Edition Support For GeForce 940m

Hi,
I am new in CUDA .
I am having a laptop with NVIDIA Geforce 940m card. When I tried to install Nsight I found that it is not supporting my graphics card.

  1. Is there any way to learn CUDA using my current hardware(it is cuda supported) ?
  2. Do I need to install linux for making use of my hardware ?

It’s supported. Leave your existing driver in place. Install CUDA 7.5 and deselect the option to install the driver. It will work.

In other respects, follow the instructions in the install guide.

Hi txbob, I installed Visualstudio 2015 community edition and after that Nsight.
when I was trying to install Cuda 7.5 toolkit it is saying that visual studio not found.
In order to find the root cause , I followed the link :

Here GerForce 940m is not listed.

visual studio 2015 is not supported by CUDA 7.5

follow the instructions in the install guide. Carefully. The only exception is that you will keep your current driver and deselect the option to install the driver that comes with the CUDA 7.5 installer.
