Nvidia driver is not loaded

Operating System: Kubuntu 25.04
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.3
Kernel Version: 6.14.0-23-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7300U CPU @ 2.60GHz
Memory: 7.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Intel® HD Graphics 620
Manufacturer: LENOVO
System Version: ThinkPad T470s

When I try to run “nvidia-settings”, a msg appears that the driver is not loaded, and the settings is not fully functional. Have installed nvidia-driver-575 this morning, however this same issue was happening with version 570. See the screendump ..

Also, when I try to run

ubuntu-drivers devices

there is no output. I’m trying to get a dual display going. It does display, but it truncated on the RHS.

The Nvidia driver is not loaded because you do not have an Nvidia GPU installed.

Can’t I use nvidia drivers on an intel GPU then ?

No, they only write drivers for their own products.

Oh, okay thanks for letting me know. So, I can drop the ide of doing dual monitors with nvidia drivers and an Intel GPU.
