P52, Quadro P3200 Mobile, Ubuntu 20.04 nvidia driver is not loaded

Hi all,

I try to use the nvidia drivers on my P52 with Ubuntu 20.04.

Unfortunately, I cannot get them to work. I tried installing them through the additional-drivers GUI of Ubuntu and through the command line with the ubuntu-drivers autoinstall command. The installation seems to work fine, but the drivers are never loaded after that.

I checked that secure boot is disabled and hybrid graphics is turned on in the BIOS/UEFI settings.

I have tried following several suggestion purging and reinstalling the drivers etc. but that has not resolved anything so far.

nvidia-smi says:

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

and nvidia-settings says:>

ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded

ERROR: Unable to load info from any available system
(nvidia-settings:10307): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 14:18:49.662: g_object_unref: assertion ‘G_IS_OBJECT (object)’ failed
** Message: 14:18:49.665: PRIME: No offloading required. Abort
** Message: 14:18:49.665: PRIME: is it supported? no

I would be really glad to get some support.

I added the log from created by sudo nvidia-bug-report.sh.
