Looking at the recommendation of the following post

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

What is really driving me nuts is that it looks all OK from the UI ? ? ?
Any help to have the second monitor detected as it can be done with the “nouveau” driver.
