NVidia Settings Doesn't Run

I have installed a new GeoForce 1050 TI on Centos 7.8. The install went fine, but I can’t seem to make nvidia-settings work. It gives me the notorious ERROR: Unable to load info from any available system
my xorg.conf seems ok.

also seems OK.

I have gone through the support forum posts, but nothing works or is completely irrelevant for my situation. HELP!!!
