NVIDIA-SMI not working after updating kernel

Hello, i’ve succeed to install nvidia on my ubuntu 18.04 long time ago but after updating my kernel and try to run nvidia-smi it shows :

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

after some browsing to this forum and others i try to remove the old one and install it manually from .run file, but my laptop is optimus type so i should uninstall the previous one from .run file and install it from repo but none of them works.

i’ve switch prime-select to nvidia and reboot it but i still can’t run nvidia-smi

my ubuntu info :

$ : uname -a
Linux semprul57 5.4.0-62-generic #70~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 12 17:18:00 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Here’s my nvidia-bug-report.sh

Thank you

Hello @semprul57,

This is the forum feedback category. I am moving this to the Linux category for better visibility.

Best,

You have bumblebee/bbswitch installed which turns off the nvidia gpu. Please uninstall it.
